Haryana plans to provide almost 7000 rooms for the Commonwealth Games 2010 in New Delhi. All rooms supplied by the state will be located in the NCR area.

Haryana is expected to offer 10000 rooms for the Games, but will only complete the remaining 3000 by end 2009. The event is supposed to bring over 150000 visitors to the NCR. Besides this, Haryana plans to pass laws to utilise the Centre’s ‘Bed and Breakfast’ (B&B) scheme, which enables NCR residents to offer lodging/boarding facilities to visitors/tourists to the region, within a regulated framework. More than half the rooms in Haryana’s NCR area are undergoing upgradation.
